Definitely some more good points above! Thank you again! I miss gut even get a website built. I like the idea of advertising for both mills until it sells.

   Many of us have flexible rates to compensate for those small, dirty or twisty log logs, quarter sawing, logs not ready foe sawing/more handling required, etc. which we bill by the hour while we bill the the bf for decent logs.

   Actually, several have commented that billing by the hour tends to encourage the customer to provide better logs that are more ready to mill. I like that aspect of it but it is often easier on the customer to understand and budget by the bf.

Lol, I've not experienced better more prepared wood billing by the hour. Last week I was cutting black walnut that had been cut into 16" rounds for firewood and rotten maple burls, but the guy is creative and has a market for the stuff that made it worth it for both of us. Maybe now I'll get to see some of those better logs lol
