I have a stihl ms 361c saw with 25 inch stihl skipped tooth chain, and am having problems with air filter and am tired of messing with it and would like to mod it over to a different style, i only use it for getting firewood and sometimes logging but not much logging now
Anyone know of a after market air filter mod on this saw? any help would be awsome

What kind of problems are you having that the stock filters are not working?  Have you tried a Heavy duty filter?

Welcome to the Forestry Forum. Hope we can help.

Don't recall having any problem with the stock filter on my MS361 in 10 years.. just remove the cover, tap the filter to knock off the debris and put it back on.. Don't know what I may have been missing.

It was recommended when I bought the saw not to brush the filter off, that it would not do it any good. So I never brushed it. Maybe that was the difference. ??

There is some bigger saw dust chips and stuff in filter box and amafraid it wil get into engine and ruin it. i just dont like the style filter that is on it, I only paid $250 for my ms 361 pro saw and have made thousands running fire wood with it plus logging for almost a year with it. I slipped of a log and fell and saw airfilter cover filter and baffle and filter box that bolts to carb broke. And would just like to upgrade it to the style like the ms660 filter but not sure how
I dont run it in bad weather anymore, i used to run it in snow and rain for 6-8 hrs a day for almost a year until filter stuff broke

Everything looked to be sealing very well i just dont understand how it got in there
just want better system is all i just prefer cleaner carb area for longer life and better performance
I will be doing a muffler mod by this summer

I dont know of another filter that will interchange. Theres nothing wrong with the design, unless its damaged or something. I see many of them and never seen one that allows chips past it.
