First off Im sorry if this is in the wrong place, if so should you please tell me where a better place to move to, TU

Ok I was just wondering if any one could give me any information about this saw,

The Owner became the new owner when finding it in the barn on the property they just purchased. Any help would be gratefully appreciated. He was going to give it as a gift for helping with some of the property clean up...

I have several more pictures, any other options for a better host than drop box?

Well here are more pictures in a drop box folder...
(off site pic links deleted by Admin) refer to Forestry Forum Rules, link a bottom of every page

Looks like a Indian chainsaw. Not sure which model.

The muffler suggests it's an antique David Bradley(Sears) or Homelite. The sprocket guard suggests it's an antique Homelite.

Thanks for the replies so far,
Im sorry about the drop box folder/images. Is there any other way to show images of this saw to get an ID?
Any other hosts that are allowed?

arby67

"click here to add photos to post"?
and that works how???

To add images the Image link asks for a link address?

Is there a limit to you have to reach before being able to post images???

Can I try to describe the saw? (that was just a joke!!!)

"Photos used on the Forestry Forum must be uploaded to the Forestry Forum servers."?

Is that the point of the "Click here to add photos to post"? and that link becomes active how?

Cedar Eater

You probably have to have a certain number of posts or be a member for a certain time before you can post photos. You add photos to your personal gallery and then copy the link to them into your post.

Thank you, I have been online since 1996, and have been using forums for several years.

In the time I was waiting to become a member and filling out the registration I read thru the rules, and they are rather sparse and lacking on the topic of posting images.

Im sorry to all for being obtuse, I just could not find much and even doing a search of the entire site does not show up much on the image posting policies.

Cedar Eater, Thank you...

I was thinking David Bradley, but couldn't find any that were close, Craftsman does not bring up much thru Bing (Sorry I work for Microsoft and will not use Google!!!), or chainsaw collector corner.
but yes old craftsman saws were "David Bradley" saws Old homelite's I could not find anything with the air cleaner down there anywhere.

Ok very cool, thank you very much, but when were homelite's "Oliver green"?
About this saw in question anyone have ideas or any info about specs, really just curious, the saw runs but I really don't think it would be going thru any wood. but I'm thinking it would be a nice little conversation piece, better then my Mac pro 10-10A and Homelite Super XL door stops. Well the Mac will switch over to anchor, I lost the breaks on My old Ford 4000, so I think that should hold it. I've been using an old Homelite Super EZ auto as a wheel chocks, but some days I need a little extra to hold it back...

Buy no Thank you very much...

HolmenTree

I've been away from home for the last few days so don't have access to my library.
But the saw you have appears to have the older Wright saw colors.

Well I found one on eBay for sale,, its a Sears Model 917350720 chainsaw Tecumseh AH47 motor.

So I think we knew it was a craftsman (Sears) but I think this is getting close. Thanks every one...

arby67

Still looking up "sears model 917 350720 chainsaw" brings up Bradley & Homelite, so at least with the eBay find it will give a "price" to the job...

arby67

I found an old DAVID BRADLEY-SEARS 91760035, that looks almost exact, just bigger, and also has the same sprocket cover...

This saw is still odd to see a homelite wearing anything other than the red paint.
I also have an older Suoer EZ in the homelite blue, but that too is odd...

Looks much like the one on this site. http://vintagechainsawcollection.blogspot.com/2012/11/mcculloch-2-10.html

He also has some facts about the production there.

It kind of looks repainted and there is some red on the air cleaner and muffler. Maybe it was owned by a Deere lover.
