Not enough surface contact to get good traction. Maybe change it over to v belts.

Deflate the tire a little, and exert more presure. That would increase the contact surface. Hence the traction. Coarse sand the flat belt puley across the surface.
French CD4 sawmill. Mecalac digger, with grapple. Self moving hydraulic boom crane. And a Brimont TL80 CSA.

Use a smaller tire and go to a higher gear.
