Where I am cutting wood there are several of these owls. Somehow the word got out to the bird watchers and we have people driving several hundred miles to see them. Last Saturday was very cold and windy. There was 25 cars parked there one from new York. Wife found several pictures on Facebook of the owl on my wood pile

You will probably have more people coming now. My wife is a birder. She thinks we should drive down to Newport NH, a couple hours away, to try to find one down there. Apparently it is rare to have them here. Once in a while there is an "eruption", like this year, and they appear here and there. From the pictures I have seen there are crowds from all over down there like you say. Your job site will become famous for a while.

surprised they don't shut you down for disturbing them that's what they did around here for a while with the bald eagles

Up here they have to be aware of them on harvest blocks on public land. On private land DNR seem to distance themselves from such matters. I'm sure if it was reported and was on the endangered species list they might show up. Might not to. They don't do anything about illegal deer farms here or feeding wild ones which is also illegal.

I know I was braggin about seeing that toad last October but today got to see a ring necked pheasant.

He probably is an escapee or desendant there off . There have been a couple attempts to get them established years ago...granted he is no great horned owl but it was a "hoot" to see him.   ;D

I was in the barn looking for tractor parts for someone ;) the other day and found an owl pellet on a trailer fender.  From the looks of it had been dining on mice.  I'm assuming it was a barn owl  :D :D  I found the part that someone wanted too 8)
