Hi,

Outdoor furnances, who has one, what make is it, and what do you heat with it? ???

I will start.  I have a Central Boiler.  One size smaller than their pallet burner.  The door opening is about only 8 inches off the cement and that makes loading those big pieces as easy as rolling them in.  The door is 30 inches by 40 inches so you can load some big ones.  8)
I heat the house and up to 6-28X48 foot greenhouses depending how many are in use at the time.  I heat one all winter and will be starting three more the first of March.

Chet, I like your wood shed but I would need one four times as big for all the wood I burn.  I figure we burn 30-40 full cords a winter on avaerage.  Heating a greenhouse takes alot of wood.  I know some of you are talking about it, just remembr that they can use 3-6 times as much heat as your house so cut wood according. >:(

I will be looking to hear from you guys. ::)

There are some very long and very extensive threads on this from just the last month. Do a search and you will find them easily, by posting on those, it will bring them right back to the top.

I'll make it easy.

Jeff,

Sorry about that but I was not sure if that was acceptable here.  I am sure I can bring up many off the old treads as I read them with more questions, comments or suggestions.  I will note this for the future. ;)

Oh, sure. We love to see those old threads recycled and brought back up. That's what is so great about this format. We can go back as far as we want and make something new again.  Posting or commenting on a thread from way back when is certainly acceptable, appreciated and encouraged. :)

I will tell you that the new search you have installed is excellent and that makes searches real easy.  I have to say you did an excellent job on the upgrade.  I have lurked here as a guest for 2 years off and on looking for info on sawmills and this was the best site I crossed so I signed up this year.

Thanks for your time and effort Jeff. 8) 8) 8)

We have a Hardy and love it to death.  Currently, we are only heating our home but we are getting ready to build an indoor riding arena and stall barn.  I think we are going to use it to heat the stall alley to at least keep it above freezing.  I wouldn't go back to another form of heat.  All the savings of wood and the convenience of a thermostat.  But if you get one, a genset is a must have.  No power, no heat.
