Thanks for your reply jdonovan,

The cradle booster is a Wilson Sleek 3G +26dB Amplifier Kit - 460106

The House booster is a Phonetone 62dB 850MHz 3G GSM Cellular Phone Signal Repeater Booster Amplifier Yagi Antenna and Whip Antenna.

I did return the Phone tone so I no longer have it, On my way to the cottage I stopped by a friends house that gets poor cell reception an tried it there it seemed to work fine there.

get a signal strength app for your phone. The booster can't boost a signal if there is none to work with.

Once we know what band/strength signal you have then we can work up from there.

clearcut

Most Android phones report the numerical signal strength in

Settings / General / About Phone / Network or Status

You can enter Field Test Mode on iOS by entering a code in the phone app

     *3001#12345#*

Call

This will give you a numerical signal strength.

Apps are also available.

Carbon sequestered upon request.

Ok thanks again guys, I found a signal strength under settings / about device / status / signal strength.

At home it shows -85 dBm   14 asu

I'm going to try it at the cottage this weekend hopefully but I got an idea I will get very little to no signal on the ground.

I was wondering why the tower that is almost twice as far away (rogers) works with the booster better than the tower that is closer (virgin / bell) and they are almost in the same direction. The only thing I can think of is the rogers one being farther away would have the signal scattered farther apart compared to the closer one. Sort of a shot gun effect?
