Really like steam...especially the old steam locomotives!...Just hearing any steam driven machine makes the goose bumps appear....and a steam whistle.....outstanding.

I'm old enough to remember when the rail roads still ran steam . Plus I worked at Baldwin-Lima -Hamilton ,a one time builder of locomotives and the maker of the famous Shay locomotives.

At the time I worked there as  a welder their business was large cranes ,portable asphalt plants and other heavy duty stuff. It's gone now .

Loved it could we see more
Are the double blades better than one big blade. If that's a dumb question I'm ok with that Im curious
Please send more videos

That is 1 big blade and a saw above and behind it. It is called a top saw. Only cuts when the other saw is buried in wood. Optional Equipment. It keeps the chainsaw out of work in the mill.

Any of you fellas interested in steam should visit the New England wireless and steam museum in Greenwich RI. if your in the northeast. They have a large collection of steam engines most running at their steam ups. They have a web site and videos. One of my old engines is in their collection, the Granger foundry "V" twin cylinder. I used the engine to run a shingle mill, but it was a real steam hog. I added some lap to the valves that helped some but I moved up to an 8 1/2 x 11" ajax that was a much better engine. Frank C.

When I was growing up my next door neighbor was an engineer on the B&M (Boston and Maine)He ran the last steam loco on the line. When he retired they pulled the bell off his engine and gave it to him. He told many stories. When they got the first diesel elect. loco they were putting on a demo at the Allston yard they had it hitches to a long freight. The super told Henry to take his steamer around the bend out of sight and help it get started. Henry said that diesel pulled out and he couldn't catch it let alone push it. Frank C.

Kbeitz...You of all people could get that "decoration" chuggin again...I like watching the old steam powered/assisted shingle mill at work.  I don't think OSHA would approve but the sawyer had to have some brass ones to do that.

It is not steam but still amazes me how creative folks were.  I imagine some may have seen this but thought it was worthy of posting anyway. Hope you enjoy.
