I say you bet, especially if we could tie it in with the OLC in Feb.  I wonder if they would let us camp at the fairgrounds?  I Don't really care much for Eugene, but at least there's no snow.  BWW

Sounds like fun.  The coast or valley works for me.  Maybe we could have a little meeting at the OLC.  May works well for me.  Nice weather on the coast, usually, and fewer tourists.  It seems to always rain at the OLC.  Also May or June I should have some fresh spring chinook.  June certainly.

WoodSmith, I added another voting option.
"Probably can't come but would like to ;o)"

You cant see the results until you have voted, and this gives other forum members the ability to see the results. :)

Also remember, on these polls you can change your vote, so if you vote probably cant come as I did, then something happens that you can, you can always come back and change your vote. 8)

I'd sure like to attend but at this point dont now how it could happen.
I can change my profile okay. No errors. If you can,t remove all the extra info in other fields and try.

Ha Jeff,
Thanks for the additional option and getting the poll setup.
One of the things that got me going on this was the fact that it would be almost impossible to come back to the pig roast at your place, really would like to make that trip some time.

Hey Toledo,

This has been talked about in the past. Many would like to do it, but schedules were conflicting...

Before deciding on location, my vote would be to see how many can commit.

Last year, many tried to meet at the OLC including 'Duane' from California.

If'n others from California who would want to make it to this function it would make sense to make it centrally located, however if none are coming from CA., than consideration for the B.C. and Washington bunch should be taken into account.

Many things to do or visit come to mind when thinking about a location,e.g.:

Hwy 26 - North route towards Seaside or towards Tillamook "Tillaway's" stomping grounds, Camp 18 - Restaurant and historic logging /sawing equipment surrounding the grounds.

Eugene - OLC of course this attracts attention throughout the West.

Florence - Sand dunes, camping, beach, etc. great bed & breakfasts, large abandoned mills to visit inland.

Philomath - Visit one of the few remaining big head rig mills.

Salem - 2nd annual Forestry Fair

We want to get everyones ideas and input for the get together before any decisions are made. I think we should give ourselves plenty of time to plan it so that it has a good chance at being a success. I was going to take the wife up to Woodmizer in Portland to look at saws and I thought that I would ask them if we could setup an FF contact point at their booth at OLC.

Tillaway

Good Idea Steve, lets see who would like to come from where.

For those members on the West Coast who are thinking that you might not be able to make it to a Forum gathering, please respond to this post (or email lsmith@actionnet.net)and let us know what times of the year are good for you (many have thought that it would better more towards the late spring early summer or possibly in the fall). Also the thought that was brought up was that we should have the gathering as centrally located as possible to take into consideration members who would have to travel the greatest distance. So your input is very important.
And there will a point of contact at the Oregon Loggers Convention so that we can talk about the event.
Thanks

I voted using Jeff's option.  If the timing is right I might be able to come out and meet some of you.  I have a couple of free rides to burn and I can't think of a better way to use them.
