I have a ms660 with a high volume oil pump on it.  Lately I have noticed that the bar is not getting the oil that it should.  When I take the bar off I find that the oil holes on the bar are plugged.  With the bar off there is a steady flow of oil from the pump.  I cut mostly ash, birch, and maple.  I was thinking of trying to open up the oil passage on the bar.  Anyone else have a problem like this?

It could be a one of a number of issues, do the oiler holes sit correctly over the oiler slot?

An oil pump in working condition develops enough pressure to push oil even with a finger pressed against the outlets.
So saw dust would easily be pushed away, unless the pump is not pumping with required pressure.
Try a thicker grade of oil, it might help now. But you need to be ready for either a repair or replacement of the pump.

Thanks Joe==Indy,  I'm going to get the clutch off and have a look at it.  After I cleaned out the bar holes I had oil running off the bar.  Something isn't right.  Pump is only a couple of years old.
