In my travels as a tree service owner I killed a large horse Chestnut a few months ago. Today I decided I should do something with it before it goes downhill.

Got my dad to help again with the dual 660 Alaskan as my bandmill maxes out at 26 inches. I'm pretty happy with the way this stuff looks.

Pretty wood. Danny can answer this better than me but I understand Horse chestnut is more of a buckeye than chestnut.

Danny,

   How closely are they related?

Horse chestnut is in the buckeye family.  It is native to Northern Greece and has been widely planted as an ornamental, so it is not one of the native buckeyes, but it is a buckeye all the same, just imported.

What a beauty. You never know what it will be like inside. It will make a fine table or bar. Sweet!
