Cleaning out my friend Charley's house since his passing. My helper [goober] has been taking loads to the scrap metal yard on his bike. This is trip 5 of cans Saturday.

My advice on aging gracefully... ride fast bikes and date faster women, drink good tequila, practice your draw daily, be honest and fair in your dealings, but suffer not fools. Eat a hearty breakfast, and remember, ALL politicians are crooks.

We had to clean out two houses in the last three years, never easy, particularly the one where my BIL was found dead.

Sure is strange cleaning out someones entire life. I've done 3 that were close to me. My best friend who was killed on his bike, my Dad's and now Charley's.

I suppose I could have attached the pix...

A job that's never easy. My first memory of cleaning up a place was when I was about 5 years old, my parents were cleaning up Grandpa Jacks place.  I was too young to understand why Grandpa wasn't coming back. But was pleased that I could now sleep in Grandpa's bed.

Yep Bill, hard job to say the least, I could tell a few stories but don't care to.  One thing I will say though is you are doing what has to be done.  My hardest was when our neighbor was found a few days later by his brother who is a great friend/neighbor of ours also and he wouldn't let us help him clean up, it still bothers me that my wife and I weren't there to help but we respected his wishes, never a good deal, hats off to you.

I have a pickup but there's not a chance I'd let Goober even move it in the yard. I'm not even sure he has a drivers license  :D ::)

I'm giving him all the scrap, he's got to get it to the buyer. There were 25 mowers laying around, should have seen him strapping those to the bike 5 at a time for push and 1 rider.
I've got a completely disassembled jeep here too.

No that's Harpo and the Broke Back Biker Bike. I can't find any pix of the flying pig but here's some of the other ones on his bike.

I had to clean out my Mom's house, and she is still alive. Her mind is deteriorating very quickly. It was a horrible 6 weeks of work and emotional strain. One story I tell is about an old vinyl recliner. She lived in the country, so kept a fire going nearly the entire time I was cleaning out the house. I drug an incredibly old vinyl recliner out of the basement, and put it on the burn pile. That thing lit off like a barrel of diesel fuel! I had green grass smoking around the pile it was so hot!

Cleaned out Grandpa Bob's shop and collections for the auction after he passed away 17 years ago.  That was really hard :(  Helped clean the house out after Grandma Jean passed away a few years after that.  That sucked as well.  Grandma Whittaker passed away two years ago this coming November and her house is much the same as it was the day she passed.  I haven't had it in me to clean it out.  The house is mine now and I've been in it less than a dozen times the past two years.  I just don't feel comfortable in there and half expect her to walk around the corner or say something when I walk in :'( :'( :'(  My wife and kids feel the same way :(  The shed/workshop where Grandpa Whittaker worked hasn't changed a lot and he's been gone 28 years this December.  Grandpa Bob's brother Uncle Ralph passed away a year ago next month and I couldn't bring myself to go to his estate auction this past spring.  Seen too many of them now I guess :( :(
Interesting load for a bike.  It must have been a real sight loaded down with lawn mowers  :D ;D 8) 8)
