This just popped into my head and now I am questioning if I did this correct.... Let's say if I want to cut a full dimension 6x, I will drop the saw down to 6 1/16 on my scale to account for 1/2 the blade kurf to get a true 6 inch cant. It seems to work but as always I feel that I am over complicating everything. How do you folks set this up???? Thanks!!

I have setworks on my LT40 Super, but back in my manual milling days, I added 1/8" at each step. For full 2" lumber, my cheat sheet was:

10-1/2"
8-3/8"
6-1/4"
4-1/8"
2"

For other thicknesses just add in 1/8" kerf for each cut out of the cant.

When I set my scale up, I set it to the "center" of the blade, therefore if I cut at 6" my cut will be 1/16 shy. Hope that makes sense.

My scales are always set to the bottom of a tooth with the set down. That way if I make a cut at 10", it's actually ten inches.

Ok, that makes sense. The more I think about it, the more I wonder why I set mine up the way I did....
