Is anyone familiar with adjustments on a Turner band resaw? This old vertical saw has an acme threaded rod to lift the idler wheel (on a dovetail slide)

and tension the sawblade and it has a hand wheel to adjust the blade tracking. It also has a spring that is compressed (with pointer) to indicate blade tension. It also has an adjustable threaded pin that sits in the pivot point of the arm that connects the axle and spring. I am repurposing the drive and idler wheels to build a horizontal bandmill with a double acting hydraulic cylinder and hand pump to replace the acme threaded rod that was used on the original setup. The double acting cylinder will tension the blade and pull the head back to remove the blade. I am not sure I will even need the spring/indicator pointer now as I can tension the blade and get feedback on tension from my hydraulic gauge. Thoughts? Also, any ideas of what the adjustable pin at the pivot point is all about? Here are a couple pics that might help.
