Heard today that cat is selling there forestry line to weiler
79 TJ 225 81 JD 540B Husky and Jonsered saws

they never could decide if they wanted to be in it or not. who is the buyer?

almost thought it would be komastu. they bought logmax then quadco. there was a rumor that they were looking at tigercat. they need a skidder and a crane painted red

When I first saw they were selling I thought the same thing I know komatsu is really adding some stuff. It sounds like the cat stores are still going to sell and service the equipment

I'd bet they're going to keep the shovels like we use out here with how many are sold.

You were right, that's what they will keep and continue to support, tracked excavators for harvest, processing, log loading.

 Look at how many companies they bought up or where already in the package when they bought Blount. Until the tier 3-4 stuff really came into effect you only had 2 options in the marine world for M/E's capable of 24hr duty cycle, a Cat or Emd, and EMD is owned by Cat thru united rail. Cat sells alot of forestry iron around here to the high production guys, I would rather deal with Milton than Nortrax's any day of the week.
