I seen this saw the other day in a local pawn shop. The tooth pattern caught my eye but I left without it. Well I couldn't get it out of my mind so I stopped today and brought it home.

About 8" at the toe and 6" at the heel are normal rip teeth, I think. The middle section of the saw is notched out every 3-5 teeth.

The medallion says superior warranted and had an eagle on the crest.

Does this seem familiar or at least been seen by someone on here before? I know it is in bad need of filing. I will add it to the queue.

Looks like a combination [rip or cross cut] . I have 3 in my collection.

Thanks what I thought but the teeth all look like they were filed as rip cut. I guess it it possible that it has been filed differently than factory in the past.

The 3 that are in my collection, all disston, are not exactly the same tooth pattern but close. In high school shop class they had one on the wall, that's how I knew the style. Many will tell you there is no such saw as they are not seen often.

Moonandcreek can you look at your saws and let me know if all the teeth are filed as crosscut or rip or a combination?

They are disston double duty [DDD etching]. They have 5 cross cut teeth to 2 rip teeth that are filed  straight across. On one the cross cut teeth are angled and the other filed straight. I think when new the rips where straight and the cross cuts angled. One saw has deep V shaped rip teeth and the other has deep U rip teeth. The small teeth look like 8 tpi. Sorry I can't do photos.
