Nice little cottage.  I like the darker color you made it.  So, what did you do with the original property?  Or did you just by the cottage/cabin?  I was trying to figure out why you just didn't build a new cabin and save yourself the pain of dismantling.
Only purchase the buildings not the land.

Excellent job! You are a hard worker to be sure.

I was curious why the people sold the cabin off their land and also did you get the fancy wood cookstove too?

I love looking.  All that I know about a log structure is that I want to build one.

Really awesome. You sir are one hard working guy.

Out of curiosity what finish did you use on the logs?

Wow what a small world. Where did this build take place? Looks really nice. And thanks for the info on the finish. I may use this for our cottage build.

We are in the beginning stages of planning a cottage build up in Low Quebec area and would love something like what you have done but would be way out of our price range.

One word of caution (not nitpicking) I noticed on the bottom sill log it looks like you lined up an squared the ends of the logs with a slight outward curve toward the bottom 1-2 logs, assuming this is for aesthetics of the ends. While this certainly looks nice, I would just make sure there isnt water that its allowed to puddle in the "cup" of the 2nd to bottom log. Many times when people build they dont give the power of water/moisture its due credit. I saw a hand scribed log cabin build in northern MN that was beautiful but the builder left a log post exposed vertically at the edge of a screened in porch assuming the point of the post would shed water. 5 years later the top 4 inches of the post is completely rotten, although it was sealed etc.

Just a word of caution, if water is allowed to settle/pool there you may have some issues to mitigate.

When my FIL was still alive and I was younger we use take down and move a far amount of buildings to get the supplies or buildings we needed for the farms we have. I have a lot of respect for the work you have done to make this happen. Looks great. The day is coming to enjoy it. I have building we put up thirty years ago that we are still enjoying and using.
