New Pointer Options

Good day all.  I am wondering what is out there for scale pointer options.  As you can see in the image, the scale on my mill needs replacing, which I plan to do with either an off the shelf magnetic option or have a print shop design and fab a new duplicate of this one.  



 

With that part dealt with, what do folks use for pointers?  Some pictures or suggestions would be so so great.  As you can see there is a nut that currently holds on the plexiglass pointer, so a screw on or, something welded to a nut would work well I think.
