Freud Chisels?

Does anyone know anything about Freud Chisels?  In an impulsive moment, I won an auction on ebay and I am now they owner of them.  Should arrive next week.  Hoping I did not pay too much or get ripped off.

I don't see them in Freuds catalog so they are probably a licensed product made by someone else. It looks like they may be made in Italy. 10 chisels for $82.00 is pretty cheap. As long as the edges don't roll over they should work fine. I've been using a set of cheap Stanley chisels since 1974. I'm hoping they will hold up.

Hard to tell much in the picture, but they are probably a bit older - which should be a good thing.  Hopefully they've been prepared properly already, which is a bonus.  Hopefully those won't be your mortising chisels though.  They can be used for paring and light clean up but they're not meant for chopping mortises.  Looks like a good buy all in all.

Freud makes some good quality products, but note those appear to be butt chisels not framing chisels. Framing chisels are much longer and good ones the handle sockets into the steel head as pictured below. For traditional timber framing, simply a 1-1/2 and/or 2" and maybe a corner chisel are all that are used. Smaller sizes are not typically needed. Bigger chisels can do all the work efficiently and act as a measuring device along the way.
