Neighbor said it is 34 below right now and falling. Trying to get the 025 going today. Found I have a almost plugged fuel filter. It has a bigger end on it than the rest of my saws. I did take apart the filter and it has a white  cylinder in it.Thought I might shove it full of cotton and put it back together. Think it will work or should I do something else. Too cold to go anywhere today for parts. Harold

Unless you need a saw today, I'd wait and fix it right. I could see bits of cotton coming loose and plugging the carb. If you wanted to rig something, I'd probably look at a coffee filter. Wash it in gas to get any dust off first. Alternately, perhaps you could clean the existing media?

edit:
Maybe a cartridge from a different filter will fit, or could be modified to fit?

My neighbor said the old saws had a rubber bell like in the end in the tank and you just shoved in a cotton ball. I thought it might work.

It might. I wouldn't take anything I say as gospel as far as equipment maintenance goes. I'd be interested in hearing what others say. I'm conservative by nature, and my inclination is to not cheap out on already cheap parts unless you really have to. A cheap fuel filter fix could end up being a laborious carb cleaning. I just don't know.

Yeah I might wait. I just wanted to fix something today. Too cold to go out side. Ha
