I picked up some cypress log cabin siding for my house from a saw mill in  Ovett Mississippi. I treated it with 2 good coats of bora care to keep carpenter bees from having a buffett at my expense.
My question is what type or brand of stain would you recommend to seal all of this with. I want something that lasts.
Any recomendations?

My mill and lumber shed are board and baton siding. I treated mine we Thompsons in the green can (has UV protection).
Once you get sap in your veins, you will always have sawdust in your pockets.

My uncle recommends all back linseed-oil paint for use on unpainted wood .i do not know how it is for cypress but works great on our pine and hemlock siding here in New York

It's very expensive, but I used Sikkens on my log home.  It's a 2 part process.  First coat is Cetol 1 which is a color and UV inhibitor.  Second part is 2 coats of Cetol 2-3 Plus.  It also has color and is a waterproof coating.  Good luck.

I`ve used Permachink`s two step, stain then sealer, seems to be holding up well

Thanks for some direction Im a firm believer to spend a little more now than go cheap and do it over. I will post some pics when I get it up later this month.

Well we finally got our siding up. Not as we planned but its almost finished. The log siding we picked up had crowned split twisted so bad it was useless and looked awfull when itbwas up so we ripped it all down. I went to another mill in poplarville Ms and bought some cypress 1x12 and put up batten board siding, with cedar shakes at the top. Trimmed out the new arch windows with some ceadar. Its looking much better. Now we are trying to find somebody to put up standing seam roof on. Thevway its looking I will prob have to do it myself.
