I have a guy giving me a 6-7' maple burl on trade for sawing lumber for him. I'm a bit lost on the best way to proceed. I'm thinking slab it out
Maybe just sell it or idk

   Do you have a market for it? Have you ever sawed one before? Will it fit on your mill? If I had a good market for it as is I'd sell it. If not I'd saw it for the experience and in hopes I could sell the resulting wood. I am not sure how to even sticker it. Does it check, crack, crumble. etc? Good luck. Pictures would be most welcome and might help with the advice you get.

So Burls are really hard like knots right? I have a 12' oak x 24" that has a 4' section that is all gnarly like a burl, I thought about cutting it out. Is it tough on the blade? I assume it would be.
