I remember a thread a while back that had some good ideas about loading lumber with a front end loader on tandem trailers with side rails without breaking the bands on the pack.   Can't seem to find the thread now.   What's some ideas besides putting choker straps around the lumber?

I keep extra pallets around I get givin to me and use them stacked up to get my forks over the fenders.
It works well.

Same here Bruno. No shortage of pallets around here to solve the age old problem of how to get loads on and off the trailer without tuning up the fenders.

you mean a trailer like this?

Seems the gentlemen ahead of me have a good solution!
maybe on the same thought process here lumber on a skid/pallet or dunnage
run slings through the pallet around the load, hoist with forks and place on trailer from the side?

Yeah that's the kind of trailer I'm talking about.   I have a couple slings/chokers I usually use to set the lumber over the fenders or rails.   Seems like I recall some other methods in the thread I read here just can't seem to find it now.
