I recently acquired and 350B loader that runs but the hydraulics are really slow and jumpy.  I really no nothing as where anything is on this machine. Where is the hydraulic oil and where to check it. Is the pump external or internal?  What is the dipstick on the floor inside the cab area? Sure I'm gonna have many questions about this machine. Thanks for any help.

I bought a 350-B crawler 3 weeks ago so I'm not alone in "taking a gamble" hoping the machine will not turn into a money pit! I am not an expert yet but have learned quite a bit. It's been good so far.

I purchased all manuals: service, parts and operators. Get these and your eyes will be opened. Well a little anyway. (link below) They will help.

What surprised me was the noisy reverser.

A John Deere mechanic once told me the diesel 350s were a little overpowered for their driveline. If you get working them too hard you'll start tearing stuff up. Iirc, he said the gas models held up well.
