I'm looking to purchase or build a portable 24'+ firewood conveyor for my splitter. However, I'm out here in California and there are no manufacturers on the west coast that I have found. Shipping is way too expensive from back east! I've been looking at auctions,CL, and equipment traders with not much luck. My questions are:
Which brands do you like?
Does anyone have a good set of plans for a build?
Does anyone know someone with a used one out here in the west?

Thanks for the help!

Yup, been searching for those too. But been looking for mostly used stuff. Also, been looking at the portable grain elevators.

here in Ks all the auctions would have 1 or 2 and they would go for $20.  Back in the day the hay bales were little rectangles a man could lift and throw on a wagon.  now all are beg round or square bales moved with a tractor.  I think you can still buy them new but would require a bit of fab to make work.  How do you want to power it.  hydraulic, electric or stand alone gas?  How far/high do you need to go.  Is this a major commercial enterprise and needs to be super heavy duty, running 12 hours a day?  at our state fair we have vendors that have gen. use ones that would work.  I did a thread on the one I built but it lifts about 6 feet and moves about 12 feet forward.  I will try to add the link.

I made this with a tarp gear reduced motor, and powered by a 12 v batt. getting charged from the log splitter motor, but can operate free standing for a while.  this design could span 24 feet and mine was way over built.  I can push it in the yard myself.

I would like the conveyor to be powered by gas stand alone. I need enough height to load tractor trailer trucks, probably around 13'. Definitely not a full time gig, but would get semi heavy use. I want it to be able to handle loader bucket loads from the tractors.

I use a old gravel conveyor for firewood it runs off a two cylinder engine running a hyd pump. I payed around a $1,000 for it when I bought it years ago. Its 30 feet and it is hyd lift. I did have to pull it 300 miles home which was no problem.

Youre talking about a pretty serious, pretty simple, pretty valuable machine.  By the time you find something suitable and mod it to work you couldve built 3 new ones.. And sold the first two for a profit.
There is a business just waiting for you to get started.
