Looking at small saws, and looked at a Echo and Husky 141. Ran into the Echo man at a local Promo and he pointed out that the Echo is rated at 300hrs and the 141 I looked at was 50hrs. So if the Echo lasts six times as long its a no brainer.

At two Stilhe (sp) dealers that also carry Echo it was no doubt they prefer Echo.

So in the long run whats the best small saw?

The Echo is a heckuva saw for the price. There are three classifications for 2 stroke engines under the EPA. A-300 hrs, B-125 hrs, and C-50 HRS. These represent the number of hours the engine will meet emission standards with normal usage and maintenance. Even the consumer Stihls and Huskies are C class. Echo makes only A class engines.

Where was he pointing those numbers from?

DanG  I hear an echo in this thread smiley_roller
just another beaver with a chainsaw &  it's never so bad that it couldn't get worse.

The numbers are on the handle label , Husky & Echo are in hours, Sthil use's A, B, C, with C being 50hrs. The Husky 141 said 50hrs & my 345 says C(50hrs).

Well, the Echo 305 ran like dog crap! :( Did not seem to be getting enough gas whatever I was doing, especially on its side but not only then.

Want to mess with my cocky dealer anyway, and now I have a good reason. Finally got two tanks thru it so they can fine tune the carb.

Exchanged the 305 for a CS-346 and it seems to run alot better! ;)
