what are anyones thoughts on do that? Metal gerts 2" OC. Then screw into those gerts with self tapers. Or one wood still need to lay OSB over the gerst?
I just go back and fourth on metal sidded. Yeah, it wood be barn red and yeah, it'll fade and areas cut will show surface rust over time. Yeah also that one wood need to upkeep the B & B, but at least that doesn't peel when re-coated.

My experience has been that nails do not hold B&B siding well when going into OSB. Unless your metal building requires a shear wall, I would skip the OSB.

Agreed, that's why I wood use screws into the metal gerts for the B & B. Reason on the OSB is basically for house wrap for drafts etc.

If you were to use the sheet metal for buildings, you can use the foam strips to help seal the wind out. I don't care for the way the strips stick to the framing instead of the sheet, as they stretch and sometimes don't fit your sheet.  Put one on at a time, and do not stretch them.
Most everything I enjoy doing turns out to be work
