Rita brought home a catalog yesterday from the post office recycle bin. Hand me this 2" thick book with a grizzle on it. Wow what a book got every thing for wood working. WHY would anyone throw away a nice catalog like this???

So that's where my wife hid it :D.

I started collecting those right from the start but for some reason I haven't seen one in years. Either that corresponds with my internet connection or my wife always gets the mail and they disappear.

I bet you're still seeing the jewelry catalogs though.  :D

I get one every year, and hold on to it until the next one comes.  Last year's issue goes in the recycle bin. They are nice to have on hand.

On the other hand, I get a huge U-Line catalog about once a month and have never ordered from the catalog.  I just go on-line, find what I need and order it.  Seems like a tremendous expense to send out that many catalogs.  Ditto with N-Tool catalogs, including the hardback copies they send out and they never get opened either.
07 TK B-20, Custom log arch, 20' trailer w/log loading arch, F350 flatbed dually dump.  Piggy-back forklift.  LS tractor w/FEL, Bobcat S250 w/grapple, Stihl 025C 16", Husky 372XP 24/30" bars, Grizzly 20" planer, Nyle L200M DH kiln.
If you call and my wife says, "He's sawin logs", I ain't snoring.

I have wondered how many acres have been cut to produce stuff that isn't even efficacious enough to stock in the outhouse.

btulloh

Efficacious? Is that another word for "soft"?

The ability to get the job done. I got a laugh out of it, my Mother emailed back home at one point when they were doing Peace Corps work in one of the former soviet republics complaining about their tp not being very efficacious. Effective, efficacy.

Thanks for the detailed explanation and the anecdote.

I was being facenationous.  :D

My wife refers those catalogs, magazines, etc as WISH books.

I like the Lee Valley Catalogues (2), one is the tools the other is the hardware. ;D But they are online now to, to browse through. ;)

Efficacious enough?  Enough efficacious?

NOT.  Story of my sawmilling life :D.

Customsawyer says that efficaciousness is not picking up both ends of the board at the same time.
