What do you guys do when sawing 1 1/2 lumber? I have a 4/4, 5/4, 6/4, 8/4 scale on my mill but need to cut true 1 1/2" .

6/4 is 1-1/2" right?  Then add blade kerf..   Atleast thats what I thought

I use my SimpleSet and set it for 1-5/8" drops to account for the 1/8" kerf. My cheatsheet has the starting point for the 4th face so I end right on my mark.

Then again - that is the same answer I will give you for any thickness. SimpleSet and Cheat sheet. Good luck.

6/4 scale cuts 1 3/4,  5/4 1 3/8  Mill is an old LT40

I made up a 7/4 scale on the side of my gauge. When I saw 1 3/4" (7 /4) the wood after it dries is very close to 1 1/2" western cut.
  2 x 6 are cut 1 3/4" x 5 3/4"

You must have a hardwood scale. My scale has hardwood on one side, and standard scale on the other. The standard scale is true sized (4/4 is 1", 6/4 is 1 1/2" etc.) Maybe you could order a new scale from WM?

I bought a 6/4 scale from Cooks. My impression was that it would saw 1 5/8" boards. I'll find out for sure next week.
