Dad and I are going to Medicine Hat, Alberta towards the end of June to pick up a new old tractor and are wondering what diesel costs up there.  We are deciding whether to take US 2 to Harve Mt and head north or jump right into Canada out of Minn. and take Canada 1 across.  We might also catch I-94 at Fargo ND and take it into Mt.  Any suggestions? Anybody ever been to Medicine Hat?  Oh ya It's a 1953 Minneapolis Moline GTB.  60hp and 6500lbs dry 8).  I got it on the  www.ytmag.com auction site.  It started out as a parts machine for my sawmill engine.  It shares the same engine and has a good exhaust manifold.  After seeing pics of it, it's too good to part out so I guess

Zack just got his first piece of old iron.  Seems like something was said here earlier about buying kids toys that Dad could play with too ;) ;D :D

You two should try to finaggle some woodmizer anniversery tickets and come back the looong way and meet up twith all a us on the 29th in Indy!  Greg, is your dad an anti computer/internet guy? Or is this one of those places that you might want to spread it with out the ole man steppin in it? :D ;)

I wouldn't say Dad is an anti.  He and Mom are online but he just hasn't taken the time to figure it all out.  They were/are very impressed with the sawmill video and wish Grandpa was still alive to see his mill on the Net for the world to see.  Once Dad retires in two years he'll have more time to play with things like computers.  Actually our trip is going to be the weekend before the 29th.  The weekend of the 29th is the Lumberjack Festival here in Wolverine and since I'm the secretary and Dee is the president I'd probably better stick around for that weekend.  It wouldn't be good if I took off.  You can bet on that ;D

Never been to Medicine Hat but I had one once.
The feathers fell out and the dog chewed one horn off it.

No log rolling for me ;D  The schedule is all but completed and as soon as the Pres gives me a copy I'll put it up.  Are you going to be towing a new Mizer back from Indy?

Hey Kevin
Are those prices in Canadian or US  :)

Ron Wenrich

I think you'll find that is cents/litre, Canadian.  The conversion factor for litres to gallons is 3.785 and the Canadian$ is about 64 cents.

So, Ottawa has 61 cent regular gas.  It comes to about $2.31 per gallon.  Take in the currency exchange and that's about $1.479 US.  That's about 18 cents more than my area.
Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large groups.

Jeff

Thats right on for prices here.
