Well this morning i pulled the pin and bought a Stihl 261c m that saw sure cuts. It will replace my Husky 272 xp that i will keep as a back up. The Husky has been a great saw and it has cut a lot of cords but i needed some thing a little lighter and the Stihl filled the bill.  Randy

It has been taken care of. The 261cm is a great unit, enjoy it.

I have been trying to buy one for the last few months but the dealer nearest me was not able to get one so today we went to the dealer 30 miles away and they had them in stock so we bought. now i am hoping for some cooler weather to cut some logs to saw. Will be Pine or Spruce. Randy

If it's like most the power will go up noticeably by about the 5th tank of gas, so if it makes you happy now you'll be thrilled later! I like mine!

I've been happy with mine. Mine was a little slow to break in. I was disappointed at first but between 15 and 20 tanks of gas it finally came to life.

Funny how some saws are slow to break in , I bought a 385 Husky and a Echo CS500p which were both dogs when new, now the both cut great. Some others don't seem to gain a lot breaking in.  Steve

I've broken in maybe 20 saws in my life (just a guess) and have never seen one take as long or gain as much as this one did.

When I first got it I was tempted to take it back and see if I could upgrade to a bow saw.
The manual says 5 to 15 tanks to break in so I kept running it and it kept getting better. Then between 15 and 20 tanks it really came to life.

I have no idea why it took so long.

It's the relationship between the piston ring(s) and the cylinder plating.
