SpaceX Log Arch

Did anyone see how Space X gets the crew dragon capsule onto the ship.  Its a log arch.  Someone might be able to recreate this hydraulic arch for their own use.

Will the capsule be re-used? It seems the salt water would wreck it?

NASA is using sawmill and log technology.  I''m guessing parbuckling was ruled out.   :D

Yes it will be re-used.  I think they said as much as 3 months to put it back in service.  They said they will clean the outside, but some of the scorch marks will be left, sort of as a badge of service.  Its like us firefighters, we like to leave burn marks and smoke stains on our helmets.

I know they tested a lot before they put all of this SpaceX stuff in service.  Perhaps they tried parbuckling the capsule up on the ship.  They talked a lot about the astronauts being likely to vomit after landing.  Perhaps rolling the capsule onto the deck violently was deemed less than helpful.

I watched it all and the log arch on the back of a trailer was the first thing to come to mind.
Make a great aqua-logging setup on the Great Lakes.

Looks like it could almost move a log big enough for matt cremonas mill too.

Thats true.  I bet it will lift a pretty big log and hes got a pretty big mill.
