Just curious if anyone knows or has any ideas about simple setworks on my lt40hd? While cuting i will set the computer to cut 2 inch it will cut consistently for maybe 2, 3, maybe 4 cuts then the head will drop only 1 3/4. I was thinking that maybe encoder was failing?  The only thing that is consistent is that it will be inconsistent. I have cleaned and oiled the chain and masts real well. I get the plus and minus sign while moving the head up and down so, not real sure where to go from here. I called woodmizer and original setworks are obsolete, the decoder is 700 dollars on the web, or i can upgrade to accuset 2 for only 2600.00 and 7hr install time. If anyone has any ideas or advice it would be greatly appreciated. The pic

Use a water hose if necessary and remove any caked/compacted sawdust on the encoder sprocket.  Be sure to get it off all of the way around the sprocket.

I started occasionally getting ~3/4" instead of 1" and just gave my sprocket and chain a good cleaning a few weeks ago.  Since then I have sawn over 15Mbf with no more problem.

I'd disconnect the battery and see if it reboots when you reconnect. Hey, it can't hurt and might help. Mine got funky Easter and that fixed mine. Good luck.

Mine was acting that way.  Turned out the fan in the up/down motor had warped and was dragging on the housing.  Made a new fan with my 3D printer.
