I was sawing at night under the lights, and didn't see the wire in the log.  Took off the slab and one board cutting through the wire with no problem until I hit the mother load.  I was pushing the saw pretty fast and it knocked the cant loose from the dogs.  It made it through but it paid the price...

 It was about a foot from the end.  I cut the cant off to get dunnage over customers trailer fenders.  That blue stain was in the log.  Figured I better clarify that.  I will do a little more surgery on it when I get time.  I just barely missed it on the second cut.  Tim

I recently hit a 5/8" x 12" lag bolt in a log that was 14' up. Ripped 3 teeth off my lucas mill blade and chewed up the other 2. Glad I bought the re-tipping jig.. The bolt must've been holding up someone's electric service or something 100 years ago cause it was dead center in this massive log that was 4' at the bottom
