My 562XP is around 2012 vintage. I've had the autotune replaced once and had to get a new case since the muffler came loose and burned a hole into the oil tank.

It's been good, other than those things. (Neither of which should have happened, in my opinion)

I'm thinking about getting rid of it and getting the new 2020 version, since it seems better. If I do, I'll want to spend the extra for the 'G' version with the heated handles.

For all the experts out there, is there any reason to keep what I have vs buying a new one? I'm assuming it will be an upgrade, but sometimes the newer models flop.

If I tried to post the long list of changes since 2012 I might get tossed off the site.

It's a very different saw these days; further updates arrived late last year, so look for one with the new air filter to be sure you have the latest version. Heated grips would be nice up there in Maine; and only cost $50 over the standard model.

Thanks Spike60. I was hoping they had made some positive changes since mine was an earlier one. The heated grips would be great this time of year. Warm gloves only go so far.
Overall, is the new 2020 version holding up and looking positive?

I just bought a new one this fall, but I don't know when it was actually manufactured. I do know I really like the saw! I have a Jred 2171 and a Stihl 261cm, I usually grab the 562 instead. Sure I like the shiny new thing, but I also like how light it is and the throttle response. If it was a snowmobile or dirt bike, I would say "it rips!"😊😊

The throttle response and weight is definitely what makes me grab the 562 over my other saws. I thought about spending a little more for the 572, but I don't really need the extra power and the extra couple pounds makes a difference when I'm holding the saw at odd angles trudging through the snow, limbing out trees.

We didn't get these new 562's until late in the year, so it's too early to make any judgement about how they are doing. Only thing I can say for sure is that the air filter certainly seals a lot better than the original. Not a surprise there, as it is the same as on the new 550M2.

I agree with your assesment that the 562 will be nicer for limbing out tops than the 572. Funny how you don't notice that weight difference cutting stuff on the ground, but start breaking down tops with most cuts between waste and shoulder height and a pound or two gets noticed real quick. :)

I'm really liking the new 562 for limbing.
Especially in pine and hemlock.

The 562XP was going to be my next saw when my 357XP finally bites the dust. Unfortunately, all of the good Husqvarna dealers have closed up shop around here. The only ones left are the hardware stores, and they don't do service. There are a couple of local small engine guys who will work on chainsaws, but they don't deal with the computer control systems. The last servicing dealer was a JD tractor dealership. They were pretty good at chainsaw service, but the corporate office made them switch to Stihl. The only remaining dealer is a half hour drive in a direction I never seem to be headed.

I donot have the lastest and greatest 562 and I'm not sure I could even get one as most are a couple years old when you check the tag build date here but I can say the last 562 xpg I got has very very good heated handle bars . Your hands are hot when running the saw

Get a new one the new model looks nice.  I seen one at a dealer and I sure liked it.
I picked up a new 2019 555 not long ago when the dealer day promotion was on.  $640 Canadian or about $500 US.  They have a 5 yr warranty for the price of 3 L of there gas.  It was hard to pass for that price!
I have never seen any leak by around the air filter on my saw.

Thanks for the feedback. I was wondering how warm they got.
My local dealer is very good, so I'm hopeful they have the new one, or can get it.
