Walnut Beast

That was a dandy little rig for sure 👍

Yes it was very impressive for its size and very fuel efficient I sold it with a brand new motor and new tires. The new owner got one heck of a good deal! Last I knew it was in Massachusetts skidding firewood but that was several years ago.

Where would I look to see the post on that unit?

Are you still logging here in RI?

To answer your question if I'm still logging in ri well thats a long story... I quit for a while just after my divorce and moved in with my high school sweetheart in NY last year. We got married this past year and are now expecting my first kid and her second at 40 and 41. So kind of starting over and we are inheriting a house with ten acres from my father where I used to have my business back in Rhode Island. So we decided to move the new business back there as well since I had good success before. Hopefully that all makes sense to you lol...

Saw it on NH cl.  looks a bit rough.  What do you think it would take to get it going, besides tires?  I some thinning and clearing per my forest plan that is more than I want to put my JD4720 tractor with Norse winch through so something small like that may be a  good idea.  Or maybe I should bring in a logger.  There are a few around, do you travel as far as Summit?

Not 100% sure what else it would need besides a set of tires? It would have to be something you would have to go look over to know for sure. They are a simple machine and share a lot of parts with the unimog 400. The engine is a perkins AD3 and you can still get any part for those as well. I'm not familiar with where summit is?
Thank you to all that have wished me luck in my new journey. I can say I'm in a much better place and position now for a positive life and for a successful business. Like they say ask and you shall receive!!!

You can probably do it with a tractor and winch depending on size of property and size of timber you are harvesting.  I've move a lot of timber with a tractor and winch. I did a 75 acre tsi job in Tiverton years ago with a tractor and winch.
