I dedicate my kiln dried stickers for use in the kiln which means any lumber that was stickered and stacked in my drying sheds outside and then go in the kiln,  become a nuisance because I have nowhere to put them until I cut more lumber for the empty sheds.
Where does everyone put them?

I like sterilizing all of them... are you breaking down and restickering going into the kiln? That is a lot of work.

On the round tuit list is a pallet with a roof that stickers get stored in and we can fork it over to wherever we need it.

Mine go through the kiln with whatever pack they're in and then get stacked on a pallet until reused. Wet or dry no matter, although I do try and run the dry stickers through a thicknesser to even out any sawing or drying variations.

Most of my timber species sticker stain isn't an issue, in those where it is a problem I use aluminium stickers.
The quickest way to make a million dollars with a sawmill is to start with two million.

I store my stickers on a skid/cart with wheels. I have 4 different lengths. Usually broken stickers that I have shortened to 12-24-36-and 48" is the regular length. The short ones are used for slabs, beams etc. I saw stack and sticker right off the mill. when the wood comes out of the kiln the stickers go back on the cart.

My kiln is on the 2nd floor of my barn so my stickers are in arm's reach of the kiln. All lumber going into the kiln is already air dried as are the stickers so their MCs should be comparable. I've had no problem with this approach.

The stickers that are used to air dry go into the kiln with the lumber.

When they come out of the kiln, they go into the "sticker shed". a small building about 30 feet from the saw building.  The sticker shed has the gas cans, diesel cans, stickers, small tools, and blades and is about 9 feet by 9 feet.    This allows these items to be away from the dust and logs.  The stored stickers are reused as needed.

We use 4' 6" stickers as those fit the kiln best.  Shorter ones for large beams or temporary uses. Some break during use and some bend by themselves.  Those can be used as shorts, or fire starters.

my 42" long stickers that match the width of my skids go into a 55 gallon plastic barrel.  for individual trees milled to a stack that is air dried, I cut them for the side lumber.  after broken down the shorter ones go into buckets.  I can look for a proper length stick for future stacking, and all of them in a bucket are the same length.  I need a shed for sticker and bands.

and two short (broken) stickers side by each work as good in place as one full length sticker.

55 gallon barrel! Perfect, thank you. I feel dumb for not thinking of this 🤦‍♂️ my brain was thinking of a rack/shelf but your solution is way better and mobile.

I made the mistake of leaving a slight gap between 2 stickers and the slabs made a V shape 🤦‍♂️
wont be making that mistake again!

I was going to mention barrels, but didn't want to insult your kiln dried stickers.  ;)

I have three that get filled up on occasion.

I made on overhead rack in one of my drying lean-to's. The idea was I could expand it horizontally when the time came.
I liked this setup because when I broke down the stickered wood as it sold or went to projects, the storage rack was right at hand. When I stack wood it is also right at hand.

I have a bin on wheels for the stickers needed while sawing. To store stickers I put them in old feed bags and stack in the corner of the mill.

I wrap about 8 stickers together in a bundle with 6 in shrink wrap. It keeps them straight and easy for me to handle. I don't have the volume you folks have. Last was 800 bf.  Dan

This is what I did. They're not weathered from being in there, they're weathered from being piled everywhere until I built this.
