I'd like to print a copy of the forest service ax manual:

One Moving Part: The Forest Service Ax Manual

It's a bit large to print at home, and pretty expensive to have staples print it.  Anyone know of any other options?

And I found a video:

Not sure if the forestry service has the video posted.

Search for a PDF Print on Demand service.

For example, this company offers a simple print starting at $0.05/page.

Dan, I would suggest a local school kid to print it.  No, not being smart, but will take some time on a home computer.  My HP office jet can double print (did a two county soils book on it, 130 pages double sided)  but takes time, paper  and ink.

The first one is some 200 pages, so can be done with patience, of course loose leave.

Get an Epson eco tank printer. I bought one a couple years ago and print 200 page manuals double sided all the time. Takes a couple hours and the worst part is punching them 10 at a time to put in binders. Full tanks will give you about 8000 pages and then just pour more ink in when they go down. Mine came with enough ink for 25,000 pages included and Costco sells reams of 800 sheets for reasonable prices. Glad I got rid of my HP that cost a fortune for cartridges.

Maybe an alternative to printing- buy an inexpensive tablet or used laptop and have the pdf's with you instead of printed manuals.  Extra benefit is you could easily carry all your manuals. Just a thought . . .

I have the ET-3750 that I got at Costco a couple years ago. It came with a extra set of ink bottles that was a Costco perk. The biggest problem is it only holds 150 sheets of paper in the cassette so for large manuals you have to break them into 2 runs and refill the paper. I print all my custom canning labels with it also and use a cameo 3 to cut them out. It has been a great printer so far and good for a person like me that likes having a manual and not having to mess with pdf files. Paid for itself already in savings from not having to buy HP cartridges every ream of paper.
