I can not believe how calm this deer is behaving with it's whole back missing!!! What the heck!!!!!

Looks like it may have been running "flat out" and ducked under a barbed wire fence, but didn't duck quite enough!

He walks along seemingly like nothing ever happened!

I've seen them with legs shot off that seemed to be surviving okay and one with a broken lower jaw that was starving to death but I am amazed this one seems as healthy as he looks to be with that kind of injuries. I don't know if a fence could do something like that. Looks like a crocodile or lion or something held him down and ripped massive chunks of of his back. I can't see how he can survive but then again, I can't see how he is even walking. It just shows amazing vitality.

That is horrible.  :-\  Surely coyotes or wolves did that.

I saw a buck that had a probably 2" hole shot completely through him above the guts and below the backbone.  It was just after muzzle loader season.  He came in from behind and I was not able to shoot him.

Can videos be photoshopped?

Yes, it's called "Deep Fake" and it's to the point of being so real that it truly is a security issue.  Imagine  the reaction to a video of a world leader calling for an immediate nuclear strike, it's getting that real.

I dunno. I dont think its real.  If it is the maggots will be eating that poor fellow soon.

My dog had his neck ripped apart very badly in a dog fight through a 6x6 woven cattle fence where two shepherds had fangs in and pulled pieces of him through.  he lasted a day and a half till i got home, found him unconcious and fly riddled, and put him down. There was black crust, dirt, leafy debris and dangling flesh all over.  That size wound would have a deer saturated in muck. Theres just too much clean fur.  A hide is way too tough for barb wire to slice it like that, youd need a skil saw to open him that deep and clean but blood would be spraying and crusting.  Hed collapse and be glued with leaves at some point.

Fangs would have shredded edges.

I could see getting run over and a shock mount peeling him open but hed have broken antlers, legs etc.

Nah, im not buying it.  Clean fur, organs and meat all over but no rib cage, no silver skin, no limp, no cloud of flies.  Dark black blood would be ladeling out with every step.  I shot a pig in the head with a 22 yesterday, it left a pencil tip hole and blood was pouring out, entire face was soaked in seconds.

Thats a gory fake.

Well if it’s fake it makes me feel better knowing that animal did not suffer like that.

Deep fakes is a very real concern, I’ve pondered this over the last couple years especially,  AI can hear snippets of your voice and recreate dialogue etc.

I killed a little buck one year that had lived a hard life.  One of his hind quarters had a wound channel that had scarred up and healed.  I assumed it was from a rifle ball.  It was through and through.  He had a broadhead in a front shoulder that had gristled over and was encapsulated.  There was a single copper plated buckshot near the end of his nose.  He was running when I shot, showing no ill effects.

Combine or just fake... that is some major trauma.

So many autonomous tractors south of here are just destroying deer and goose/wildlife.  The combine is side attached and if the wind changes you can't even hear the dang things.  They're battery powered and pre-set to do a job for that day.. if the battery is low it is smart enough to go back to recharge.

The ones I've been working at are GPS controlled but there is a safety wire that sets the parameter, if the unit goes past that it's instructed to shutdown.  Unfortunately one of the IH tractors ignored the gps and safety wire and it ended up deep into a forest.  The modern farm is insane.. give me an old diesel tractor.. spend less time waiting for the computer to issue way points.  It seems like technology just takes forever to do something when I could do it in ten minutes.  Anyways.. that is my guess.
