I'm having some issues with my BMST50 sharpener/setter - specifically the oil rate. Oil is everywhere. If I turn it down where it doesn't stream over the edges it doesn't make contact with the wheel which is pointless. I'm using a 10 degree Ripper 37 CBN wheel and also use the woodmizer diamond wheels for the carbide blades but they don't fare too much better.

Does anyone else have this issue? What have you done to fix it?

My magnet and tray get emptied and cleaned regularly. I wish I could get the hoses closer to the wheel so I could turn the flow down. The best I've got so far is some tape on the front splash guard but it only does so much.

What I did was to shim the front of the sharpener up an inch (or less) so all the oil naturally runs/pools back at the drain.  Other people have commented here before about the same overflow complaint. At first I also had oil spilling over the front until I tilted it.  I have the valve closed down to the point that I have a steady stream washing over the wheel.
