I'm not too fussed about the powered rollers and cant pincher hold downs, but extra loading arms, two-plane clamps, side supports, and more bed sections would make my life easier. I've got 45' of bed, occasionally 57'. 16' is easy. 40' is easy. 20' to 24' can be a real pain.

I know just what you're talking about. After I get the Hot Rod shop done. The mill will have a lot of fab work to it.
The swing supports are the first to go.
I think I found our solution. Put it between our mills and BX24s. If Wood-Mizer would like to send me one for long term testing, you have my address, and the keys are in the Kubota. :)

Strange that the manufacturer has different style machines for North America and Europe? I would say that all options could be bolt on the american machines as well. They are all built in the same factory aren't they? You should check Resch&3 on youtube, I especially like the v shape log rollers. They have some complicated machines, really like to see it running but I would be afraid for the maintenance and trouble shooting... Serra has great mills as well, they look a bit simpler but have a lot of usefull options.

Lots of things are unnecessarry complicated over here... Work a lot in farming and earthworks over here and sometimes you get sick of all those screens, settings, computers and stuff. When I started at the farm you had an old Deutz DX with the front window open, 3 hydraulic levers and some handles to manage everything. Now you have to study IT business before you can even plough an acre. All features and options where the user isn't asking for, just some bored engineers who like to make live more complicated I guess  ???

I believe the European Wood-Mizers are made in Poland, but yes, there should be interchangeability.

And sometimes the European stuff has tolerances that are to tight and cause nothing but headaches. I prefer the middle of the road approach to get the best result.

I talked with some folks from  Woodmizer on FB last night.
They are going to look into some of the options from Europe to see if they can work in the US

Not going to happen. Metric vs foot-pound system.

The design concepts can be interchangeable but not the physical bits and pieces.
