We had a 7x10 job trailer. I welded the hitch and spring hangers back on that thing more times than I can remember. Dragging it thru the mud was the death of that poor thing. Those little trailers are made light weight to gain cargo capacity.

I'd try mounting one on a flatbed pickup. Make it easily removable.

For the farm I have a 6x8 steel frame with my gas welder, gas air compressor, diesel tank, and tool boxes mounted on it that i sit on my pickup flatbed. It has fork pockets so I can easily remove with the skid steer it and use the truck as a truck.

Yeah I know darn well I'd have a good trailer junk and still not like the fact I have to pull a trailer around in order to have my stuff with me.

Chevy that's exactly what I'd like. Versatel from truck to truck and up and out of mud and rd salt. No it's not as big as a trailer but I'm finding I will have to sacrifice something or spend $100k on a new truck with a box. So the cargo trailer mounted on a flatbed don't sound like it would look out of place or obviously a use to be trailer? They're so cheap that's what makes them appealing. Quick and cheap. Already made to handle wind and weather. I may have to clean a spot in the pole barn to start a new winter project 🤔

Step van?  I've seen several diesel units in the $10k range in decent shape.  The best one I saw last week is a retired Matco Tools truck.   It was already outfitted with tool storage, work bench and inside 120 volt wiring.

An old ambulance would work ok pretty good for you? Most of the cabinets are internal vs external on an old fd utility rig. Might be worth checking the auction sites

UP here on the tundra some of our ambulances are 4x4, but the majority are all just 2wd.

chevy,

We've got some 6x6 ambulances around, same deal some are, some aren't. Mostly the small towns with the goat paths around, over, through the hills and around lakes.

I saw a guy pull into the racetrack once with an old 1 ton ambulance as his tow rig.  I thought it was kinda funny til mid summer when I was sweating my butt off and him and his 2 crew guys were camped out in the back with the ac on! Not as funny then :(
