I own 2 Hudsons. The smaller 18" uses 2 x 2 x 1/4 angle for the track and bunks. My larger 36" uses 3 x 3 x 1/4 angle. When you set the angles in for the bunks and weld them in, the bottom of the log ends up 1/4" higher that the track, (not that it matters in your case). In either case, I have not ever had issues with the bunks bending. It is however important to support the track continuously as shown in the picture.
Change is hard....
Especially when a jar full of it falls off the top shelf and hits your head!

Local wind direction is determined by how I park my mill.
