I asked in another thread if anyone has cut any. I had a guy get a hold of me yesterday to ask if I could cut 2 boards roughly 1 1/2 x 8 x48 in half to approximately 3/4. I know it's hard but have never cut any. I asked a woodworker that I know made some pens out it and he said the oils in it has a tendency to leave burn marks when cutting. I called Woodmizer this morning to ask them and they recommend a carbide tip blade ( carbide only comes in 7* ). Anyone have any experience or opinions on this ? I told the guy I needed to do a little research before I would except the job. Thanks.

I would suggest he contact a local woodworking club.  That's a valuable board, and less would be lost with a woodworker's bandsaw set up for resawing.  I keep a carbide tipped resaw blade on my 24" bandsaw, and it would be an easy task.

I tried splitting a dried maple slab using a new regular 10° blade. It was definitely the wrong tool for the job.
