These heads don't delimb on the top very well. They need a knife on top to cut when backing up also. Has anyone done it or are the newer cat heads like this also? Just curious.

The top has a fixed knife if it's not delimbing you will need to sharpen it with a flapper disc as well as putting a back bevel into the inside. If you're talking about down by the butt plate there's no knife there.

Yes the fixed knife is sharp. It takes limbs off but it will take a few passes to get the nubs/nots smoother. On the nasty white pine I'll turn the tree around and delimb towards the butt. Takes them right off smooth then turn back around to buck the tree. I know it's the type of head but I'd think someone has done something in all the years it's been out. I really like the head. I can't believe all the bad I heard about them. Keep everything in order and it seems to just cut wood. Still lots of them running around here.

The Waratah H225E has two sets of arms and debarking feeder rollers.

There was/is? a two roller conversion for the Fabtek head. (If the new rollers (2 roller head) are larger they could have a bit more speed. Other articles mention new knives)
