Wife has a wooden box stuffed to overflowing with recipes, good things happen when she hauls that out from the pantry. She uses Ercille Beem's Christmas Cookie recipe, from the days when sharing recipes was a Big Deal. Properly mixed, chilled in the fridge, rolled out on a flour sprinkled countertop with an old  wooden rolling pin. Baked to perfection on well seasoned baking stones, frosted, and decorated from an assortment of colorful toppings. The kids always excelled at that part, at least that's what we told them. Hallmark Movie kind of stuff, but it is a tradition in our house....
