I went up to Stillwater to see the operation that Cedarman and his son Aaron had, it was very impressive.  Looks like they may be there for several years clearing out some of the cedar.  I manage to get in a couple of photos of their grinder operation.   I did notice a large clear pond lurking through the trees where they are fixing to move to next.    ::) ::) Fish or work?  I definitly enjoyed the visit with them.

Yep, the smell is strong even when they are not grinding.
As Buzz said, they don't smell it anymore, must be a drag. ;D

Stumpy, it's used as mulch.

Cedarman

We are on a new 200 acre patch of cedar cut a few months ago.  The needles are golden brown.  The aroma from this fresh cedar is almost overpowering.  Even we can smell it.

How much is cedar mulch worth? Were selling hardwood mulch for 15.00 a yard and it's going quick.

Cedarman

Retail in Oklahoma City is $31.00 per yard, but we don't get near that much, but we are selling 3 semi loads per day.  Is your $15.00 wholesale or retail? I know out east even buying coffee is a lot higher.

man that is impressive ! I cant believe the size of everyones operations here ! Do you wear a dust mask around cedar dust? I get around alot of cedar dust and after 5 years of it in my little woodshop I now get a runny nose and sneezing attacks if I dont wear a mask . You must follow a logging crew ?

They only wanted to pay 3.00 a yd wholesale. I told them I'll dump it over a bank first before I'll sell it for that. So right beside there adds for mulch for 20-40.00 is mine for 15.00 thats retail for homeowners. This time of year on a saturday there's a line in my log yard waiting to get loaded.
