Looking for a good used clutch for a Stihl .015. The center hub is stripped out. Looks like left hand metric thread. The crank is fine.

Would a Helicoil work in this application assuming I could get a left hand metric Helicoil??

I wouldn't mess with helicoil  for a part such as a clutch, got to be one out there somewhere. Another forum for chainsaws etc. is http://forums2.gardenweb.com/forums/tools/  you could try there also.  Dealer can't get one?

Dealer want more than what  the saw is worth. I may just JB weld the clutch back on the crank and see what happens ;D

The part number for the STIHL 015 clutch carrier is 1116 162 3200. It has been discontinued but some dealers may still have them. You can also convert over to the clutch from a STIHL 020 AV. These parts are still available. You will need the following:

1114 160 2000 Clutch
1114 162 8900 Washer
1114 162 8901 washer
9211 260 1150 Nut 8mm LH thread
