Usually come home with old classics. Been trying to find a good 395XP to finish off my saws on the bigger cc end. Every time I walked into my local dealer this kept calling at me. Been watching and humming and hawing for months. Watched one get sold and said oh well that makes it easier to decide. Then they got another one in. Looked at it for a couple weeks then went for it in a weak moment. Sweet unit!

Congratulations! Good time to buy if you want one new. It's been discontinued, and the new supply will dry up at some point.

Kind of my thinking as well. Had a line on what was supposedly a one owner all original mid 2000's one on market place 6 weeks ago and the scammer took my money and ran. Tried to do something through the authorities but it went nowhere. First time in over 10 years buying like that.

That's terrible  :^(

I don't buy much(anything) online that doesn't come with purchase protection. Years ago, I had a guy flake out and not send me MREs on ebay, but ebay took care of it. I had used him before without issue, but not this time. I'd trust forum members here and elsewhere, but otherwise, I have a cash/carry policy. I'll bring cash, you bring stuff,, and if it all checks out, we'll do it.

The Husky X-Tough 28". I have a few longer bars hanging up but this is about all I need for what I do. It won't get used much actually.
There was a 592 sitting there the whole time that tempted me but I'm sticking with carburetors and saws I can fix if needed.

donbj   Nice looking saw. Enjoy it. As I get older I figure I am not taking the money with me so if I want a new tool and just buy it. I can use it as a tax write off so that helps. I normally don't buy used saws. In my area most folks want close to new price for a clean low usage saw. I did pickup up a very nice Stihl 660 some years back that had only been used to take down a few trees.

I agree Hedgerow, life is short, so enjoy every day you are blessed with.  Have fun with the new tool Don.  I like tree work, Felling and bucking.  Cleaning up branches not so much.  But having good tools makes it all more enjoyable.  I asked about the bar to see if you went with a lite weight bar or standard bar.   I was looking for a X-Cut chain 3/8" .063" 115 DL in 36" bar length.  I don't think they make it in that gauge configuration.  Non-x-cut I can find.  If I only knew more years ago I would have tried standardizing my gauge choices to make life easier.

I just bought a chipper cause I don't like cleaning branches. It would be nice if it eventually paid for itself, but if not, I'll have enough fun giggling as I run branches through it  :^D

I contemplated a light bar but didn't really see it as a priority really. The saw was more want than need. First new saw I've bought since 96. It'll be the last as well as I really enjoy finding the older classics. Sitting in the line up in my collection it will stick out like a sore thumb  :D.
