I was watching a Youtube video and reading the comments. One person commented that they sharpened their 10 deg blades to 7 deg. Not sure if this is a good practice or not so I would like opinions????
Why is there never time to do it right but always time to do it over?

I still haven't finished my sharpener so I can't say for sure either. I have read other posts where people have done just that so that all their bands would be the same mainly I think for ease of sharpening. That way they don't have to make any changes to the sharpener itself. When I do finish the sharpener I'll probably try at least one. I have a mixture of 10 and 7deg bands, but I think I'm going to start buying only the WM 7deg blades from now on.

I've done it, but it's hard on the band and the sharpening wheel because to has to be hogged and takes several passes, so takes time, also.

Take steps to save steps.

If it won't roll, its not a log; it's still a tree.  Sawmills cut logs, not trees.

Sawing is fun for the first couple million boards.

I go from 10  to 4  all the time wih no problem , 1 pass.. You dont have to hog it off just so long as the tip of tooth  gets dowm to 4.  The stone just has to hit the tip on the way down.  Steve

I've ground from 10 to 7 also, if you're decreasing angle and not concerned with getting the inner most radius of the gullet on the first grinding you don't have to take off a lot of material. This may not be true with a full profile wheel, mine is a CBN drag Woodland Mills so it operates like a stone type.

I've gone from 10 to 7 with no issues.
Change is hard....
Especially when a jar full of it falls off the top shelf and hits your head!

Decreasing the angle is not hard, you are just removing material from the tip of the tooth. It depends a bit on the type of sharpener you have.
